How’s your meetings rhythm? | Issue #208
What is the best meeting rhythm to optimise growth in your business?
Here’s a question. Do you spend all your time in meetings? Hour after hour and day after day? And despite all this meeting time, you feel like nothing is moving forwards? This is pretty common.
We often sit with clients and work out their OKRs and key priorities. That’s the easy bit. Once they’re agreed, they look at us and say, ‘When in our current business cycle do we fix any of these?’ They need a fundamental re-think of when and how they meet.
If you’re ambitious for growth, you need a regular drumbeat of carefully timed and structured meetings. These should be diarised, set in stone and stuck to without fail. Everyone in your business needs to get behind them. Based on my experience scaling three companies at speed, I suggest the following.
How to Attract & Capture the Attention of A-Players on LinkedIn with Donna Serdula
In this incredibly tight labour market where the power well and truly sits in the job seekers’ hands, how can you optimise your LinkedIn profile so that you make yourself (and your company) more attractive to A-players and job seekers?
Don’t miss the latest episode of The Melting Pot with Donna Serdula, author of LinkedIn Profile Optimization for Dummies, and founder of LinkedIn specialist firm LinkedIn-Makeover. Donna details how people should be thinking about this. She shares what you as an individual leader, a CEO, should be doing. How often should you post? Should you put hashtags on? If you do, which ones? Should you share content that’s already on the LinkedIn platform? Or try to get people to connect to content off the platform?

So often firms run with no external benchmarks. How do your sales team stack up? Are you comparing yourself to only average or do aspire to be in the top quartile?
We’re seeing more and more clients’ hiring discussions and decisions take into account a candidate’s life goals and desired experiences, and how the organization—and its purpose—can help the individual achieve them. Instead of asking, “What can you do for us at work?” employers are asking, “What do you want out of life?” Companies are reengineering the recruiting process to place the candidate at the center and to train managers in the ability to share genuine, compelling stories about the employee experience and meaningful work.
Why You Should Separate Salary And Performance
We all believe a great school report deserves a tenner, right? Well, I disagree. Here’s why I believe that. And how that translates to separating salary from performance. Good performance brings its own rewards, and especially in the workplace.

The future belongs to a different kind of person with a different kind of mind: designers, inventors, teachers, storytellers creative and emphatic right-brain thinkers whose abilities mark the fault line between who gets ahead and who doesn t. Take opportunities to coach your team in public
When you’re looking at behavioural issues, using the phrase ‘coach to correct’ is really helpful. It’s important to take opportunities to coach in public to make sure the people have the same understanding of culture.
We have a client with ‘being open and not defensive’ as a behaviour they aim to correct in their culture canvas. So in a discussion where people are being defensive and not open, you’ve got the opportunity to coach them to think about their perception of how they’re showing up, so that they get to reconsider at the moment.
